Turkey Day

Of all the holidays, of all the planets in all the universe Turkey Day is one of the best. I know I can't testify for most of the holidays that the little green men have, but I'm sure they would agree Turkey Day is pretty sweet.

Turkey Day celebrates the basic human desire to take a day off of work, sit around a giant table, and tear apart a huge dinner in world record time. Then sit back take a nap, be thankful for Thursday football and the day off. All the while knowing there is a turkey sandwich waiting for you when you finally decide to get up.

A holiday of no commitments or hassles. Just pure relaxation, the ultimate goal of anyone.

Back up and running.

Nothing beats the time after when everything you own decides to self explode like The One Hoss Shay. It is a wonderful time when you get to go out and buy new stuff with one assumption. I don't just want new stuff, I need it. Admittedly, the moment right after everything goes haywire are usually rough. You spend days trying to figure out just what you can afford and getting upset when you realize what a financial burden everything is going to be. Although, when you go out and pick up the new item you realize you spend more time happy you actually can use it and that time outweighs the time agonizing over paying for it.

Next comes the part where you spend all your time with it. Organizing its accessories, and getting everything just right to make it as much like the old one as possible. Buying cases, protectors and other things to keep it as nice as the day you bought it. You look at it sitting next to the old broken down version and tell yourself, "I will treat this one better," knowing full well in a year you will care about as much for this one as the last. But at least you keep protecting while the memory of how much you spent on it is fresh in your mind. That really is all thats important.

"Where in the heck did that title go?"

I know for a fact I am not the only person in the world with this problem. You see something everyday, you know right where it is, how to get it and are confident that it is alway available. Except, when you need the item you go to get it know where it is and are confident you will be able to get it. It is such a let down how every time its never there.

You need a needle and thread. You have seen them in your drawer every day for the past two years. When you need them you go and look they are gone. Same with going to a store. You see a hat you like every time you are there. When you can finally afford it its gone.

Well that is happening right now. I finally have something to do right now that is fun on the internet. I am really excited about working on this blog, but what would happen. My computer breaks down. Every day it sits there and I look at it and surf the net bored. When I finally have a good reason to get on, it dies. It's cruel irony.

What for enjoy tempting us so? Maybe this only seem to happen because the emotional responce that people feel when they look and find something they need is not as strong as the frustration of not finding it. Thus, people remember every time they dont find something and forget every time they do. It is a simple concept and more than likely true.
